Some challenging thoughts…….ready?

Proverbs 16:18,19

18Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.   19Better it is to be of a humble spirit with the meek and poor than to divide the spoil with the proud

Ok, many of us may know these scriptures but I ask myself again while I walk this walk of salvation out with fear and trembling, do we REALLY know what it means?  Better yet, or maybe I should say, even more challenging, do we live this way?

one further step, read these challenging scriptures…………..

Proverbs 6:16-19

16 There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes, seven which are an abomination [a]to Him: 17 Haughty eyes, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, 18 A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that run rapidly to evil, 19 A false witness who utters lies, And one who [b]spreads strife among brothers

What do these scriptures mean?  Does God hate some people?  I say NO!  God loves people.  He loves all people.  His love endures forever and He will never leave or forsake.  I challenge us.  God does hate some behavior.  He loves the sinner and hates the sin and as I challenge myself and walk this road, I extend the challenge to you.  I say it is time to get serious about serving God and following His Word.  Following His Word starts by getting to know His Word.  Let’s dig a little deeper in these scriptures.  We will look at them, one by one.  Praise the Mighty Lord for His Word which does great things inside of us and feeds us truth!!!!

  1. Kel…first thought I had was of Saul before his conversion and how he shed innocent blood. Although the shed blood of innocent people is an abomination to God…God still met Saul on the Road to Demascus and encountered Saul! So I totally agree that God deeply loves us, but can abhor our behavior, which ultimately flows forth out of our heart. Sometimes we read scriptures like that and think if you are doing any of those things…then you are going to Hell! However, Jesus came to seek and save that which was lost…so in a nutshell…Jesus is seeking those that do things that are an abomination to God…to save them from eternity in Hell. Thank you Jesus for your grace, love and mercy, which you pour out on us in abundance! The more we grow in Himan the more we understand His greatness and character and ultimately we begin the process of walking out our salvation with fear and trembling. As we surrender our hearts to Him, for Him to do heart surgery…bottom line…transform them…the end result should be fear and trembling…as we have an encounter with God like Isaiah did and we are in His presence who won’t experience fear and trembling! We are laid bare before Him in that place. Ahhh the place of encounter or transformation…Jesus is seeking, saving and desiring to take us to this place…transformation!
