DON’T CARE Freedom Moment!

Don’t Care FREEDOM!

That’s the name of this episode!  Let me say it one more time louder. DON’T CARE FREEDOM!

That is exactly what I experienced tonight!

No, it doesn’t mean that I don’t care about others, or things, especially things that really matter.

It is a freedom that you get when you reached a level of freedom within yourself.

I am working out of town this week and I am trying to stick to my 2 miles a day walk.  Last night was a little tough since it was raining and cloudy and got dusk early so, I didn’t want to walk outside.  I decided to do it inside.  And yes, you can choose to walk inside if that is the only possible avenue to get the job done.

I walked 2 miles in my hotel room.  I mean it.  I am not lying.  I have my apple app to prove it however, I guess it doesn’t show my laps as an oval shape in a 20 ft room, so therefore, you will have to just take my word on that.  I chose that over not walking at all and here to encourage you that you can do the same 😊

I am sure most will find it extreme, however, I find walking stress relieving what can I say.  It was a little wonky in a hotel room BUT, I did feel accomplished afterward and had a chuckle on myself.

Tonight, was different.  I was walking all around a University campus.  Warm for a November 1st night, but oh so beautiful.  So I took full advantage.

I put my air pods on and set off.  Yes, I needed to be diligently looking around with those in my ears and my music on to be safety conscious.

So, please picture this…….and enjoy the video journal!

Thank you for your response. ✨

Worthy Right Now….

You are worthy right now.

Receive it by faith.

Why? Jesus paid a price for you and me. He died for all of our sins.

You don’t have to wait for anything. You don’t have to be perfect. Or strive to be worthy or until you “feel” that you are worthy.

You are worthy already.

Worthy to accept yourself. Be yourself and live your authentic true self. How? His love will help you do it.

He will always be your fortress or your rock.

Beneath Me

https://www.podbean.com/media/share/pb-i3dnq-12dd878

I saw nothing but dead trees, bushes, an abandoned bus stop and many more unappealing sights.

Nothing to make me stop and admire beauty around me. There was nothing to admire.

Or was there?

I looked beneath me.
Let me explain.

I was on a walk looking for some “roses to smell” and pictures to take. For a while there was nothing to make me stop or even go “ahhhh”.

I started my walk expecting, anticipating, desiring to learn something in nature, and right there, in my moment of perusing an area of trees while taking a break from climbing a hill, my eyes looked beneath and I noticed a few flowers that popped out.

Immediately, I gained a different perspective.

I inched over and I realized that the flowers were “beneath me” and normally I am just looking out straight at eye level.
Is it because I have tunnel vision, or maybe my knees hurt and I didn’t want to bend down fearing I wouldn’t get back up, maybe I got fixated on the negatives and wasn’t looking for the positives.

Come on, we have all been there.

But, I almost missed it. I almost missed the beauty of those flowers because I didn’t look beneath.

The pictures I got to capture were beautiful! And the whole area seemed a bit more beautiful than a mere 5 minutes ago.

This butterfly thought was more of a Holy Spirit whisper reminding me that we need to look at the whole picture, consider different perspectives, turn our spiritual “eyes” to different levels and to look beneath and remain aware that we are always learning.

Do we sometimes miss people, things, situations because we “think” they are beneath us.

Or, maybe we have to shift our perspective to see them?

That is where my butterfly thought took me and boy, I really did get a different perspective in an instance in nature.

So, when I was looking and anticipating a lesson, when I allowed my heart to be open and desired to hear, that is when my heart was cultivated and primed to see beauty that is beneath me.

Sometimes it is us tuning out of our tunnel vision, opening our hearts, becoming aware of lessons that need to be heard and opening up to seeing the whole picture.

Are you looking and anticipating a butterfly thought?

I encourage you to do so.

Have a great day and thanks for joining!!

The Helpful Light

Lights Out!

You must have experienced a time when you were working, visiting, or doing something and all the lights went out.

You look around, everyone gathers in questions and confusion and it sparks conversations of what to do, how it is affecting us and just how much electric is counted on in our lives.

When I went into the bathroom and found myself in a pitch black room, my eyes focused on the only beam of light that was coming from the bottom of the door from the daylight on the other side.

That light was helpful in navigating.  I focused on that light to help me not to stumble and navigate towards since I knew it was the way out. 🙂

In dark times in our lives, let’s be the light for those who are in darkness and always be reminded that God’s word in a light for every one of us in dark times.

He is there in prayer when we reach out.

His Word is there to guide us as the helpful light.

And as we our allowing His word to be our light, we can be a light for others by reminding them that there is always a helpful light available.

Unfamiliar Roads Made Peaceful

From “After the Sermon Series”

My little nugget of truth hit me on a Saturday this time.

Yes, it can come at anytime if we allow ourselves to be open enough to receive what God is showing us, telling us or nudging us to see.

It also came to me in a form of a little nugget, my granddaughter, Adalynn. ❤️

I was babysitting her for the first time overnight for her mommy and daddy to attend a wedding out of town.

She loves her routine and I wasn’t quite sure if bedtime would go smoothly since mommy and daddy were not home.

But bedtime came, and so did her tiredness. I know sometimes she likes to be rocked, sometimes not so much and certainly wasn’t sure how she would react she mommy wasn’t the one putting her to bed.

We set up for the stair climb and brushing of the teeth and it was going really smoothly. I just kept on trucking on and desiring to make her feel comfortable knowing this could be very unfamiliar to her or even a little rough spot.

Brushing of the teeth, check.

Pajamas, check.

Bedtime tickles, check.

Quiet atmosphere, check.

Now it was the time. I asked her if she wanted me to rock her. And in her cute little voice, came her cute little “yeah”.

My heart melted for a second since these times don’t always happen and a grandmother doesn’t always get to have those moments.

We sat in the rocker and I started to rock her. For the first minute or two, you could tell she wanted me to hold her and rock her by her squeezes, but also at the same time, she couldn’t quite get comfortable.

My desire was certainly to make her comfortable so she could rest. That was the one thought that was in my mind.

There it came. That quick. The butterfly thought.

I heard the whispers of God saying, “Yes, I want you to rest in me at times too. I love when my children come and rest especially if they are walking unfamiliar roads or not quite at ease. Sometimes it feels uncomfortable for them at first since it isn’t the normal thing to do but rather, they rely on their own strength and squirm a bit with unease”.

I thought, “Wow”. Isn’t that the truth? We go about our own business just like a toddler who is becoming their own personality, branching off when they don’t need us as much, sometimes just saying “no” to the bigger picture they don’t see or understand, or just going and going and not realizing the rest that they truly do need. In above all, God is there, wanting us to rest in Him, feeing that comfort and knowing we are taken care of by His arms.

If you need to, read that again. I wanted to convey a comfort and to have my granddaughter know that I am taking care of her and things and I have her best interest at the very core of my heart. I would have answered any and all questions (if she could convey her fears) to have her know she is safe.

How much more, with His infinite wisdom, does he know what is best for us, how to comfort us, protect us and make us at peace.

After the two minutes or so, my granddaughter settled in, buried her head in rest and let me hold her and I could feel her body resting in peace. When I laid her down, she wasn’t quite asleep but I do know she felt safe enough to drift off.

The next time you are traveling on unfamiliar roads, shaky ground, feel uneasy, anxiety is tugging at you, my prayer is that you know your Father God’s heart is to help you through, hold you so you can rest, and bring peace to you so you are comforted.

Here is to unfamiliar roads traveled in peace….
