But Why, God?

Do you ever get the Feeling that God is  withholding something from you?  As a whole or something in particular?

Have you Been praying and not getting what you feel you should? Or what you think you need?  Perhaps it is the timing that you are questioning and it is taking a lot longer than you feel necessary.

Maybe, you just want something that bad you are holding onto the faith that it will be delivered soon?  But soon doesn’t seem to come?

Thought twister.

Could it be God protecting you?   Have you ever given that a thought?

Here’s Another thought twister.

Maybe that through the time you are waiting for it, your heart is being made ready or being tweaked and the very thing you are looking for so desperately doesn’t seem to feel the same or you realize you don’t need it.

OR Do you just want to stomp your foot and say “but why”? Or the ole ‘why me?”

So, we are going to explore that for just a moment but I do want to present the best suggestion there is……..you explore it WITH GOD, asking Him questions, looking for answers and leaning on Him to give you the answers.

But here is a little insight of what I know and have experienced myself.

Be prepared to wait, be still, and start with surrendering what your thoughts are on the subject to the one who Knows everything about what you are looking for and every nook and cranny along the way…..

Start with the simple, heartfelt prayer “God, give me your eyes to see this and YOUR understanding”

Say it.  Mean it and open your heart to what that means.  I do promise a whole new perspective will becomes yours.

Instantly?  Maybe.  Could it take some time.  Probably.  Will it happen, it will …..with faith as God works with your heartfelt prayer and your surrendering,

God will surely give you his eyes to see situations possibly like you never have before.

So, Could it possibly be that He worked, is working, and will forevermore work behind the scenes…… all to protect you or prepare your heart, change your heart as He sees fit all to give you the best?

I definitely have faith in that and have lived many scenarios like that.  Actually, still am.  I can tell you that when I starting surrendering, it didn’t feel good all the time.  At times it seem releasing, at times it seemed hard and then other times, you know that stubborness of knowing you should let go and not wanting to.  The truth remains that as I did and started living a lifestyle of surrendering and asking for His eyes, my world changed.

Do I live like that all the time.  No.  Here is where I bring out the realness in me.  I sometimes go on autopilot, rogue and start doing just to do and thinking I have everything under control.  News flash – this isn’t the best way to stay under His wings, however, Here is the good news.  When I recognize it, and talk to Him and ask Him to bring me back, He does.

My whisper today was right out of the blue where a memory popped up and it was from a time that was not the best season in my life but I felt an overwhelming peace that the things that I thought should have happen but didn’t, the things I wanted to see come to fruition but never did, and the times in my life where things disappeared and I wondered why I had the loss and I had to grieve through, was Him actually protecting me, guiding me, changing my heart and constantly inviting me back to His protection all to where I am at in my life today, living my best life yet.

Allow the Holy Spirit to enlightened you as you surrender your thoughts, your wants, desires and life all in believing and having faith that He really does have your best interest, wants to give you great and mighty things even more than you can think, and loves you that much that He will do what He needs to in order to protect you.

Here are just a few scriptures to read and spend some time with allowing Him to speak to you through them.

Romans 8:28

Isaiah 55:8

Hebrews 3:10

Isaiah 40:31

What’s Different?

IMG_1972

Hello!

So, I am on the hunt to making Mondays momentous!  Who is with me?  Who wants to not feel the Monday blues anymore and have a different view when Sunday night rolls around and, of course, that Monday morning alarm?  Hence, why I am posting this today so we all can read it, soak it in and already have a different perspective for Monday.

I want it…… 🙂  ……..well, actually, now that we are talking about it, I want to do my best to feel that everyday and making the best out of the small moments.  Does that REALLY mean I will have a great day everyday!?  NO!!!  Imagine me saying that with a very exaggerated, slightly sarcastic tone because that is the tone I am saying it in. 🙂 🙂

What i am trying to convey is that I do believe, in our worst of days or just a bad day in general, might not be able to hit us the way some of them have in the past if we “take on” a different attitude or tweak some things in our mind.  Is that possible?!  YES!!!  I said that “YES” with a very excited, determined tone 🙂 – Am I convinced?  100% since I have been there over and over AND OVER again in my life.

We do have the ability to view things differently, give present issues a tweaked perspective and to find good over bad.  That is in our control and if you can see it…..that actually becomes exciting.

Let’s do it together.  Each Monday, (or Sunday to prepare us:)  we will explore what we can do practically to help ourselves not dread our days.

So……..what are we going to do today?  Let’s start small – simply do something different today!  Simple? Yes…..but will you do it?  That’s right, it REALLY is up to us.  Will our day, tasks, issues….stop us?  Hmmmmmmm, this is up to us………but let’s start.

Take a different road to work and see different things.  Take a picture of what speaks to you and you can remember it for your first Momentous Monday.  Look at your pictures on your phone to recall old time memories.  Call someone that you haven’t seen for a while but they have been on your mind.  Listen to a different song or play your favorite song and dance while no one is watching.  Write down a goal and re-visit it often. Try a different food and explore.

Here’s something different – let’s all put our phones down in this day and age and have a real time conversation and re-connect 🙂 –

Last but not least, if you really are having a bad day, and I have had them a plenty, yet you still want to press through in faith and hope, you could write some things down that you are thankful for, proud of or things that make YOU smile and say a small prayer.  Perhaps, reflecting on them will help you throughout your day.

Let me know what kinds of different things you did to make your Monday momentous!

Happy Monday-ing !  🙂

SHHHHH………..

Ok….I have an experiment for everyone.  I did it and it became real.  It isn’t the first time I did it and certainly won’t be the last because of the mere fact that every time I do it, it brings on insight and growth.

So, before we proceed, if you don’t want insight and growth and I do know people who have said “no thanks”, you might not want to do this.

Remember, if we are staying in the attitude of love, then every person has the ability to choose and we would love them through that choice.  It doesn’t mean that we condone or even agree with what people do and vice versa, may not agree with what I do, but love would still be present allowing for people to grow more as they desire.

First, before we get to the experiment, that last paragraph paralleled something in the Bible – judgement.

What I try to bring to my writing and I truly hope it comes across is that I, myself, am a believer in God, Jesus, the Cross, redemption and the fact that I believe in the Bible’s teachings.  I also will not argue, debate or “thoroughly discuss” as some have put it unless we want to get into a deep conversation about God’s love.

What I also try to bring to the table in my writings is I am not here to judge, nor do I want the job as it is way too burdensome and heavy for me to carry.  I try to give out scriptures for people to read, pray on, and ponder for themselves and if they want more understanding, my hope is that they ask God through prayer to shed light on the scriptures.

My relationship is with God, through Jesus, and I am not here to preach it, pound it, throw it or Bible beat anyone.  I am here to try, my very best, to live the Bible and its’ teachings, which by the way, is not always easy.

Now……….experiment time!!!!!  Who’s in?

Take 30 minutes or even 20 minutes if you can’t take 30 🙂 –

Sit in a room…..no TV, no cell phone, no one else, no radio, no music, no noise.  I know……. it just became real already in the world we live in!

Take a note pad and pen in your silent room.

Ready? Go!

What is on your mind?  The first 5 minutes or possibly 10, will be all the things racing through your head…..what you need to get done, what you forgot, how silly this experiment is……..all kinds of things will race through your mind………….yet, sit, wait and write down what ALSO is on your mind.  What is your heart trying to tell you.  What IS bothering you?  What images come?  Maybe it’s a word, phrase, paragraph or images.

To make this even more intense, take the leap of faith in prayer and ask to be shown something that needs to be addressed in your life, your heart, to come to a place of working through things.  Everyone has “things”.  Everyone has something that they could improve or need healing of some sort.  Sometimes, just sometimes, you get something much more out of it than you even expected.

This has been a very successful experiment with me countless times.  My mere desire was to share with you and hope you get just a little out of it, well, a lot of out it 🙂

Again, I will say it as a disclosure, if you don’t want to look deeper in your life where sometimes we all have to grow or heal, this experiment might not be for you.

I hope it is and you are touched deeply today.

Experiment on!

Truth!

I found wholeness through the love of God when His unconditional love got a hold of me.  That’s it in a nutshell.  That is what I needed in my life.  A taste, the feel, the absolute knowing of what unconditional love was all about.  When I knew, that I knew, that no matter what I did before and who I was and the faltered person I still can be, that God loves me, there is a change that one will have in their heart that will be  so touching that it is unexplainable.  But – oh – so beautiful!

It’s your too – it’s everyone’s – and if you don’t feel it – ask God to meet you where you are at. I didn’t “feel” it right away either.  It was something I sought after.  Sometimes I think I ran away from it since it might have seemed foreign.  But – it is real – very real.

When it does get a hold of you – it will change you – and heal you.

God is a good God.  Unconditional love heals.

We need more of that unconditional love in the world and there would be more healing.  Period.  Truth.  What a wonderful thing that would be.  When I receive that – and I do – from my fiance’ – it is a feeling like no other.  This world would be changed.

Receive love – Give Love – True Love Heals.

Starts With Us. 🙂

Praying for a Beautiful Monday for Everyone!

Kelly 🙂

It Starts In the Heart…….

I love the saying that just because you sit in a garage, that doesn’t make you a car……..so sitting in a church…doesn’t make you a Christian. That saying also made me chuckle….however, it is the truth.

I have been going to church again. I wasn’t going for quite a long time. What? I haven’t been going? I know. There are some that would gasp at that and might even judge. I had my reasons. Yet, all along, I knew I was still loving the Lord and my relationship was still intact. At times, I was barely hanging on to tell the truth and I was spiritually treading water at times too. Ever been there in your walk with the Lord? However, deep down, I knew He was still loving me. And as the Bible states, He is the same yesterday, today and forever……never changing. That IS the great thing about Him and one of the things I love the most because HIS love is secure…..that you can count on…….you can count on HIM……..HE is your security and His never changing ways and love.

I was asked yesterday about this blog and why I am not writing because they miss it. I didn’t know, honestly if people enjoyed it or not, however, I got a reminder yesterday and then I stayed home today because the other reminder I got was going to church doesn’t make you a Christian. The same person who asked me about the blog reminded me that she is mostly homebound and most times, for her, this is the only “Jesus” she sees and is refreshed and loves the honesty and transparency she gets from me. I want to be transparent. I have been in a desert with the Lord for awhile now. And I believe we all go through those times with our walk with the Lord. And they are not fun. We have our mountaintops, valleys, deserts, etc. and boy do we have some questions at times. Sometimes we don’t even know how to ask our questions because we are dumbfounded…..and all we can do is say, really God? But, what I have been reminded of is that HE is the one that can handle all the questions and He already knows what is on our mind and in our heart so we might as well get it off our chest 🙂 and give it to Him because He is the one who can help.

The key is this…..we can go to church all we want….. but if our hearts aren’t changed or renewed or touched or whatever word you want to put in their, it becomes religion. And religion will eventually leave us spiritually dead. God has allot to say about hearts. HIS WORD has allot to say. It begins with our hearts……..every morning, I try to remember to give him my heart in prayer and ask Him to change my heart first to be more like His so that it can affect others throughout the day. If we have His heart more, how would our world be different…….or our relationships? Hate would disappear…..unforgiveness would cease……grace would cover…..mercy would rule……patience would be greater…because His love would be ruler of our hearts…we would see people as He sees people….and we would hate sin and love righteousness more and more…….. And we can pray for that 7 days a week and not just on Sunday…..yes, it is transformation and boy, am I am work in progress and I am SO thankful for His grace, mercy and patience on me.

Will  I continue to go to church?  Sure!  That is where His people gather to worship His name in Praise!!!  and Hear  and be transformed by His Word and to help with our transformation!  But we continue our relationship with Him from the depth of our heart the other 6 days of the week!!!

“Death” of a Loss One –

I am embarking on a new journey starting on Monday – a new journey without “my buddy”. I didn’t lose her by a physical death. She is still here in this world. My new journey starts with a lesson that I have leanred that death isn’t always about a physical death. You can lose someone in your life that is truly significant, that has made one of the greatest impacts on your life and feel one of the deepest pains in your life and it feels like a death. That would be the case of “my buddy”, my co-worker. In a very unfortunate turn of events and deeply painful, she will no longer be working side by side with me.  The one that I went to work with for 25 years. I met her when I was merely 19, when we think we know everything and now I sit at the age of 44 and I am saying to myself, “holy crap, I am just now learning some things now!”   Her and I side by side – 25 years. We laughed – we cried – only raised our voice probably handful of times – but we did it all together. We took a stressful job and we made it fun – we made everything a game – we made fun of it and each other – but we did it together and together we were each other’s confidants. How do you replace that? You don’t.

Lord, take the pain away, I have been crying. The deed was done on Tuesday. I went away on vacation on Wednesday. Let me tell ya……..drinks don’t take it away, taking picture on vacation and smiling doesn’t take it away, seeing beautiful sites and laying by the pool and even relaxing, as nice as that sounds and it was, doesn’t take it away. My lesson continues. Pain is pain. Loss is loss. We will experience some things in our life that are devastating. This is one of mine. I know it is one of hers.

Hows? Whats? Whens? Whos? Questions fly in my head, heart, everywhere……………….Time, prayer, giving Him the pain, – it is one of the holes that only He can fill – not one person, not one thing, only Him…….

I am once again reminded that The God of Comfort and Peace needs to be my all in all……

1 Corinthians 1:4-5 “God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too”

1 Peter 5:7 “Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. ”

Psalms 30:5 “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning”

Psalm 56:8 “You number and record my wanderings; put my tears into Your bottle”

so as I wrapped up my time with God , knowing this is another one of those times where I need Him to get through it, I thanked Him for being there and guiding me through, giving me strength, grace and His love.  Then I said “ok God, I got this” ………then He gently whispered and said” no, WE got this”………I love God!!!!!
